Eleanor Ravenswood is a figure of both admiration and disdain in the Kingdom of Astira. As the sophisticated owner of Highreach’s most opulent taverns, including the Golden Elm and the Nightshade Lounge, she has risen to a position of immense influence. Her establishments are not just social hubs but pivotal nodes in a web of secrets, where elite and commoners alike engage in a dance of luxury and concealed agendas.
Beneath her public charm, Eleanor wields a potent mix of illusion magic and alchemy, manipulating Highreach’s power dynamics to her advantage. With the Umbral Veil's rise, she seizes the chance to exact revenge on the nobility, using her extensive network to sow chaos and destabilize the kingdom while maintaining her polished facade.
Eleanor Ravenswood on the Tabletop
Eleanor’s mastery of alchemy and illusion magic translates into a formidable array of tactical abilities on the battlefield. Her defensive skills are invaluable, as the Umbral Veil unit pack a punch, but are not the greatest when being attacked themselves. With the passive ability “Stealth,” her entire army forces enemy ranged units to engage up close. In melee, her “Mirror Images” create the illusion of Eleanor being everywhere, causing friendly models to intercept attacks and allowing her units to spread out damage between them. Her reactive ability “Mirage” enables heavy hitters to strike and then reposition to safety ... ideally next to a mirror image ;)
Offensively, Eleanor excels at misdirection and indirect control. Though she doesn’t deal high damage directly by herself, her active essence ability “Accidents Happen” can turn enemies against each other by making them attack as if controlled by you. Her “Phantasm” ability further enhances her control, allowing you to reposition enemy units as if they were your own. In a pinch Eleanor can also engage in melee, and while she may not inflict significant damage, her passive ability “Displacement” will disrupt opponents by throwing their models into disarray.
Synergy Tip
Eleanor’s “Phantasm” ability is an incredibly versatile tool of control. It can expose enemy units to unexpected attacks, delay reinforcements, or move opponents away from crucial objectives. You can also combine this ability with terrain features like a "Burning Woodland" or "Poisoned Swampland" to even further amplify its effectiveness. After all, how could it ever be your fault that your opponent’s unit stumbled into a burning forest …
