The Bloodthorne
The Bloodthorne emerged as a mysterious force shortly after the first Rupture, a creeping shadow that seemed to awaken the very heart of nature itself. It was as if the wilds had turned sentient, driven by an insatiable hunger for essence and flesh.
In battle, they deploy a grotesque array of corrupted flora and fauna as their soldiers, including monstrous plant-beasts and sentient trees. Most viciously, they transform their enemies into weapons, corrupting them and turning them into puppets for the Bloodthorne’s sinister will. In response, their foes have developed techniques and tools to purify and protect their essence, striving to reclaim the land from the Bloodthorne’s insidious grasp.

This relentless drive to consume and corrupt essence presents a dire challenge to all who cherish the natural balance and harmony of the world. The struggle against their ever-growing influence is a desperate battle for the very soul of Astira, a conflict where the stakes transcend mere survival, threatening the delicate fabric of the realm's magical integrity.
Gameplay
On the battlefield the Bloodthorne especially rewards an aggressive playstyle. The army follows one command only: To consume all essence and all flesh. While this means that a Bloodthorne army needs time to ramp up in the early game, their power grows steadily as the battle progresses.
The Bloodthorne steadily corrupt and infest your opponents army, with infested units becoming a beacon that attracts the attention of the entire Bloodthorne army. When an infested unit falls, it releases a surge of essence, which is absorbed by nearby Bloodthorne units, exponentially increasing their power. Each kill not only weakens your enemies but strengthens your forces. The more essence your army absorbs, the more devastating your units become, making every encounter a potential turning point.
