"I have battled beasts, men, and shadows born of nightmare – but never have I stood against a storm of steel so unyielding. The brutes came, towering and inexorable, their weapons screaming like thunder on the wind. I met them with fire and grace, my blade weaving through smoke and ruin, yet even the brightest flame could not turn the tide. My kin fell, their swords dimming before they could set the battlefield alight. I danced forward, embers trailing in my wake – then the sky itself shattered in a rain of iron.”

The Deathspitters on the tabletop
The Deathspitters bring the first dedicated ranged unit to the ranks of the Umbral Veil. Combining the durability of Goreclaws with devastating short-range firepower, they excel at shredding medium-armored foes. While not the most accurate shooters, the alchemists solved this problem with sheer volume – each hit inflicts two damage rolls, representing the relentless hail of bullets they unleash. After all, what else would you expect when you strap a minigun to a monstrosity with more bullets than brain cells?

Synergies

Deathspitters thrive when paired with defence and armour debuffs, making the Poisoned condition particularly valuable. With the right setup, they can even pose a threat to standard Silver Line infantry – though expecting them to mow down a full platoon of Guardian Defiants might be a bit optimistic.
Horatio, Architect of Anarchy, greatly enhances their essence efficiency, allowing them to infuse their hit rolls after rolling dice. Since each hit effectively counts twice, every successful hit roll becomes immensely valuable.
