The Shroudfall Spring Bash 2026 brought players together at WOW Keepers in Austria for a day of tactical play, clever list design, and some truly intense matchups. I brought along a balanced Silver Line list built around one of my favorite Silver Line Essence Weavers: Major Byron Kildare.
Army List Overview

Major Byron Kildare, Master of the Armoury (30)
Magistra Selina Wynford (16)
Riflemen (25)

Guardian Lawbringers (27)
Goblin Scouts (10)
Goblin Scouts (10)
Captain Katheryn Stormridge (16)
Guardian Brawlers (25)
Goblin Demolition Crew (13)
Terrain:
Small Rocky Outcrop
Granite Enclave
Swampland
Essence:
Red: 1
Yellow: 7
Grey: 3
Sideboard (75/75 pc):
High Warden Elara Steelheart (27+5)
Blade Wardens (28)
Clynt, from the Eastern Forest (15)
The Core Idea: Pressure from Game Round one
At its heart, this list is all about projecting early pressure without overcommitting.
One of the key tricks is the ability to deliver a unit far across the table, even in round one. By combining Byron’s Order “March with Haste” with Magistra Selina Wynford’s Essence ability “Temporal Ignition”, the army creates an immediate and very real threat range. You can speed up your ranged units to reach very far down the table, or you can deliver one of your melee heavy hitters deep into enemy lines.

This forces opponents into a difficult position:
Either respect the threat and play cautiously or
Risk getting hit hard by fast-moving heavy units
That hesitation is exactly what the list wants.
Ranged Pressure & Board Control

While the opponent is busy accounting for the forward threat, the army’s shooting core gets to work.
Guardian Lawbringers
Riflemen
These units provide consistent ranged damage, gradually weakening enemy lines as they advance more cautiously than they might otherwise prefer.
Buying Time – Utility Units
To reinforce that tempo advantage, the list includes:
2x Goblin Scouts
1x Goblin Demolition Crew

The Scouts shine in scenario play, especially in interaction-heavy missions, while the Demolition Crew adds a powerful damage manifestation with “Light the Big One!”.
Together, they:
Stall enemy progress
Score objectives
Create tactical distractions
Sideboard Flexibility – Enter Elara
Where the list really becomes interesting is in the sideboard. Bringing in High Warden Elara Steelheart allows a complete shift in playstyle:
From balanced aggression (Byron)
To defensive control
This is especially effective in:
Centralized scenarios
Control scenarios
Games where spreading out is less important
And yes ... you can run Byron and Elara together… but that 5-point penalty for double Essence Weavers is very real, so choose wisely 😉
Scenarios – Playing the Center
The list is built with central board control in mind, reflected in the chosen scenarios:
Dreaded Dragon’s Domain
Legendary Ley Line
Apparition Ambush Adventure
All three encourage fighting around the middle of the table, which plays perfectly into the army’s strengths.
Key Highlights
Dreaded Dragon’s Domain: A standout for the core list with Major Byron Kildare. The list can reliably deliver Guardian Brawlers into the dragon with two full attack actions, putting on devastating scenario pressure.
Legendary Ley Line & Apparition Ambush: Excellent for Elara’s defensive, control-oriented approach.
Weaknesses of the Army List
For all its strengths, this list’s flexibility and early pressure come at a cost.
It doesn’t bring a large number of true heavy hitters, which means it can struggle in a straight battle of attrition. If you allow the game to slow down into prolonged trading, the list can be punished quite severely.
To succeed, you need to lean into what the army does best:
Leverage your superior threat range
Apply consistent ranged pressure
Create favorable engagements on your terms
A significant portion of your units aren’t designed to win fights outright. Instead, they:
Support your core pieces
Control scenarios
Distract and disrupt your opponent
That means discipline is key. Stick to your game plan, avoid unnecessary trades, and don’t get pulled into your opponent’s tricks or tempo.
And as always ... break the game! Daniel
