The 2026 FAQ & Errata for Shroudfall have arrived!

Updated: 12 hours ago

Now that the game has been out in the wild for a while and is seeing real tabletop action, it’s time for the first round of refinements. This update focuses on smoothing out rough edges, tightening up the rules, and ensuring the experience plays exactly as intended.

The Errata revisits the Core Rulebook, correcting small issues from the initial print run and clarifying sections that caused confusion during actual games. Meanwhile, the FAQ addresses some of the most common questions from the community, providing clear answers, resolving tricky interactions, and offering guidance for tournament play.

A Polished Experience

Think of this update as a refinement pass across the entire game:

  • Cleaner, more precise rules to reduce ambiguity at the table

  • Smoother gameplay flow through clarified core interactions

  • Edge cases resolved based on real in-game situations

  • A stronger competitive foundation for fair and consistent tournament play

In short: fewer rule debates, more time playing.

This is just the beginning. Shroudfall will continue to evolve with your feedback. If you’ve encountered something that doesn’t work quite right - or have questions we haven’t covered yet - reach out to us at contact@gamebreakers.at or join the conversation on the Shroudfall Discord. Your input will help shape future updates.

Looking Ahead

Both the Errata and the FAQ will continue to grow alongside the game. In addition, the Gamebreakers team is planning a balance update for all factions in Q3 2026.

Beyond that, the plan is to move toward a six-month update cycle for Unit Cards - meaning that rebalancings will not take place unexpectedly all the time (as long as we don't completely break the game with a release ...). This approach allows us to steadily improve game balance without constant disruption to the meta. Players should have the space to explore strategies, adapt to challenging matchups, and fully engage with the game, without frequent shakeups from ongoing rebalancing.

So keep on breaking the game (and write us if you did...)!
