High Warden Elara Steelheart

ree

High Warden Elara Steelheart stood sentinel over the shimmering Essence Crystal vein, its pale radiance dancing across the engraved plates of her armor. Behind her, the Silver Line Phalanx formed an unbreakable wall - shields interlocked, shock-hammers humming with stored power like caged thunder. They had held this ground for three relentless days, and Elara felt the weight of expectation pressing on the world around her, the stillness that comes just before a storm breaks. The Umbral Veil wanted this vein. And they were closing in.

The first shapes tore through the treeline with feral speed: Goreclaw Brutes, their elongated talons reflecting a sickly sheen of Essence corruption. Behind them trundled the Deathspitter Brutes, their grotesque, grafted gatling-arms spinning up with a shriek that set the very air on edge. A storm of Essence-touched rounds erupted toward the defenders. Bursts of violet light scattered harmlessly off the Phalanx shields, each impact flashing like a dying star. Even the shots striking Elara simply bent away from her warded armor, repelled as if by will alone.

“Hold,” Elara commanded, raising one hand. Lightning unfurled from her fingertips in a branching cascade, arcing from Goreclaw to Goreclaw. Monstrosities spasmed and distorted under the crackling fury, some collapsing, others staggering forward in stubborn, unnatural resilience. But more shadows moved beyond the trees - larger, heavier, trembling the clearing with each step. Then a Spinebreaker Brute emerged, a towering abomination whose jagged weapon swung like a pendulum of ruin.

Elara stepped forward, placing herself squarely between the titan and the crystal vein. The creature roared and charged, but she met its fury with a burst of blinding radiance - white-gold brilliance lancing from her palm like the judgment of a star. The Spinebreaker reeled, thrashing blindly. Around it, Deathspitters fired wild arcs into the woods while Goreclaws clawed uselessly at empty air, all of them trapped in her light.

“Phalanx!”

Elara called, voice steady and resolute. “Advance. Drive them back.”

When your whole job is ‘don’t die’ and you overachieve.
When your whole job is ‘don’t die’ and you overachieve.

High Warden Elara Steelheart stands as an unyielding bulwark against any threat the Silver Line may face. With a base Armour of 7, her reactive Essence ability Redirect Force, and the passive Rooted, she is exceptionally difficult to bring down.

But her resilience is only part of the story. Elara’s entire kit is built around protecting her soldiers and keeping them in the fight. The combination of her active Essence ability Blinding Light and her Leadership makes any Silver Line force remarkably durable, especially when paired with naturally resilient units like Guardian Defiants and the Phalanx. And even if your warriors take damage, her Order ability “We Stand Together!” makes it far harder for the enemy to finish off a specific warrior.

At the heart of her toolkit lies the powerful defensive reactive ability Nullify, allowing her to shut down enemy Essence abilities that would otherwise threaten her troops.

While she excels defensively, her offensive output is limited. With only a single attack in her profile and just one offensive Essence ability, she won’t be carving a path through the enemy lines by herself. High Warden Elara Steelheart is a commander defined by protection. She keeps her army standing strong so they can win the battle for her.
