While the Sporebound Thralls represent the first stage of the Bloodthorne's corruption, some victims are left to fester for far longer than nature ever intended. As the fungus continues to spread unchecked, flesh twists, bones thicken, and the unfortunate host swells into something far larger—and far angrier.
 
The Sporebound Brute is the result. These hulking abominations serve as shock troops for the Bloodthorne, relying on overwhelming strength and relentless aggression rather than intelligence. Capable of absorbing tremendous punishment, a Brute remains dangerous even in death; when finally brought down, its bloated body ruptures in a violent burst of spores and gore, raining death to everything caught nearby.
