Not every experiment produces a masterpiece. The Failed Experiments are the unfortunate remnants of attempts to create something greater - humans whose bodies proved too weak, whose minds proved too dull, or whose flesh simply refused to become a proper monstrosity. What remains are cheap, expendable troops, armed with crude weapons bolted directly to their limbs.
 
They may lack the strength and resilience of the Veil’s true creations, but numbers have a way of making up for shortcomings. Sent into battle with little more than basic orders and an overwhelming desire to survive, they swarm the enemy, clog firing lines, and buy time for their more valuable brethren. After all, an experiment doesn’t have to be successful to be useful.
