The Forest's Angriest Meatball Has Arrived

While the Sporebound Thralls represent the first stage of the Bloodthorne's corruption, things can become a little... strange, given enough time.
Enter the Sporebound Brute.
The Brute is what happens when corruption is left to grow unchecked. A hulking, shambling monstrosity with not an ounce of grace in its bloated frame, the Brute exists for one purpose: to run down anything unfortunate enough to stand in its way.
The Sporebound Brute on the Battlefield
While not particularly fast on its own, the Brute reacts violently whenever nearby Sporebound are destroyed. Thanks to its reactive Essence ability, Sporelink Response, it can surge across the battlefield and reach melee combat far faster than opponents expect.
And that's exactly where it wants to be. Its base ARM 3 may not seem impressive, but once engaged, the Brute becomes significantly harder to bring down. Its passive ability Brawler grants +1 ARM against melee attacks, while Regeneration helps it shrug off more damage than it should be able to withstand. Combined, these abilities can turn the Brute into a stubborn roadblock that refuses to die. Combined with it's active Essence ability 'Taunt' it can become a real thorne in you opponents side.
Destroying it isn't always the end of the problem, either. Once the Brute finally falls, its reactive Essence ability Gory Explosion can make life miserable for any enemy troops caught nearby. Units with lower ARM values may find themselves regretting every second spent in melee with it.
And while its attacks aren't known for their precision, its two melee attacks hit hard enough to give even heavily armoured enemies something to worry about.
So if you see one lumbering toward your front line... you might want to shoot first.
Synergy Spotlight: Autumn Bride
The Autumn Bride naturally enhances many of the Brute's strengths. She can help it cross the battlefield faster while also improving its chances of landing hits and actually damaging tougher foes.
However, their most devastating interaction is far less subtle.
Thanks to her passive ability Sporebound Sight, the Autumn Bride can effectively detonate a Sporebound Brute on command. Once the ability resolves, the Brute is destroyed, immediately triggering the Brute's reactive Essence ability Gory Explosion. A very powerful synergy and highly dangerous to expensive models with low ARM values.
