Getting started with Shroudfall
Shroudfall is a tabletop game that is focused on providing an exciting skirmish level battle experience for two players. The game is balanced with a competitive spirit in mind, but the core rules are still incredibly easy to pick up.
Over five game rounds you will take control of warbands that compete for land, strategic objectives and most of all for Essence crystals. Your warband will be led by an Essence Weaver, a powerful character model which brings unique abilities and playstyle to the tabletop.
Games are played on a 36 by 36 inch battlefield, with alternating activations keeping both players involved throughout the match. What makes Shroudfall stand out is how the battlefield itself is part of your strategy.
Choose Your Faction
Once you have a first feeling for the game, it is time to take a closer look at the factions available in Shroudfall. Each of them features a unique playstyle and excells at different areas of the game.
The demo games are planned around the Shroudfall Skirmish Packs, but you can of course also play them with any miniatures available to you. The goal of these first games is, to focus on the essentials: moving, attacking, and unleashing your first essence abilities.
Players bring terrain and scenario cards as part of their lists, shaping the board and objectives before the first move is even made. That means: Every game presents new challenges, and no two battles play out the same way.
On this page you find everything to play your very first game of Shroudfall and you will learn all core mechanics of the game. You can start by reading the Shroudfall Core Rules if you want to have a deep grasp of the game's mechanics from the very beginning, but you can also take a look at the video tutorial on Youtube, which showcases many of the core mechanics and read the Core Rules once you have a first feeling for the game.
Each of these Skirmish Packs contains around 80-90 points worth of models and comes with a set of dice and movement widgets. While the general Shroudfall scenarios are optimized for 200 points, the demo game scenario is perfect for lower points games.
You find the demo game scenario in the demo game card packs or under "Rules & Resources".

While the Silver Line only maintains a comparatively lean force, their true strength lies in their advanced essence technology and strategic prowess. The Silver Line might find itself outnumbered, but seldom outclassed.

Silver Line

Chosen of the Spirit Tree
The Chosen of the Spirit Tree are an army defined by duality, both in their units and their overall playstyle. While the Ailur embody the essence of slow and deliberate tenacity as well as martial prowess, the Aiyani are nimble and wield powerful elemental magic.

The Umbral Veil relies heavily on brute force in the form of their various monstrosities, while many alchemists take on supporting roles on the battlefield. Their greatest strength is at the same time their greatest weakness. Monstrosities separated from their masters are mindless monsters, easily outsmarted by their enemies.

Bloodthorne
The Bloodthorne follow one singular command: Consume! Be it essence or flesh, the Bloodthorne absorb everything and continue to grow and empower themselves. Their strategy hinges on the continuous consumption and corruption of essence and the steady growth of their power to overwhelm all that stand against them.
